Wave 10 Compliance is Approaching: What Do You Need To Know?

Table of Contents

Intro

2024 is almost over and so is the due date for wave 10 compliance with Phase Two previously announced by ZATCA for taxpayers. The wave-based approach is a way for ZATCA to organize Phase Two, known as “The Integration Phase”, into various groups known as waves. So far, sixteen waves have been announced by ZATCA, however, we give special mention today to wave 10 as its effective compliance date is on 31/12/2024.

Wave 10: Who is Included?

Wave 10 includes taxpayers whose annual taxable revenue exceeds 25M (SR) for the year 2022 or 2023. ZATCA has previously announced the Wave 10 compliance date prior to the effective date in order to give businesses enough time to settle their tax matters and ensure complete compliance with ZATCA for Phase Two. Hence, the compliance notice date was set from 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2024.

What Does This Mean?

This decision mandates businesses included in Wave 10 to comply with E-invoicing  Phase Two requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Unlike Phase One known as the “Generation Phase”, the “Integration Phase” obliged additional requirements in addition to the ones shared in Phase One which included:

1. Mandatory integration with the FATOORA platform.

2. Including all additional mandatory E-invoice fields.

3. Following the E-invoice standard required format for Phase Two.

4. Ensuring the organization’s internal system adheres to the technical requirements posted.

5. Incorporating QR codes into E-invoices.

6. Adding Invoice titles according to invoice type (tax invoices, simplified tax invoices).
